Gear Design Software
| Fairfield Gear Design Software evolved
from 1967 and was offered to the public in 1985. Since that time
there have been over 700 copies sold. Now these programs are
offered free through internet distribution.
Also today there is a new windows version available. The original Pascal language DOS version is still available although it has not been updated since 1995. In addition, there is a dimensional analysis program now available that is handy for doing assembly stackups and keeping a complete project record during the detail design phase of a project. All of these programs are available for download but each requires a registration file to run. That file is also available free from the following pages. To obtain these programs you must register with Fairfield. Once registered, the programs will download directly to your computer. Your email address will be your password and the registration file will be sent to you at that address. The registration file will have to be renewed periodically for some of the programs. That can be done by just signing in with your email address and requesting a new cn.fil file. The whole process should only take a minute and the new file will be emailed to you immediately. I suggest that you download the programs and install them in separate folders. The default location on the auto install routine will insure this if you use it. Put a copy of the registration file (cn.fil) in each folder so all of the programs have their own copy. Certain setup information is recorded in that file and the windows programs will have to have the file renewed periodically, so it is best for each program to use its own copy. |
